Gustavo is a Panamanian artist who draws from a history diverse in language and rich in culture. He is inspired by the vibrant colors, patterns and spirit of his native Panama. Classically trained at Lehigh University, he paints in multiple mediums in a boldly recognizable form.

As an immigrant, Gustavo's background has become a very influential factor in his journey as an artist. In the 1980’s, his family fled a war-torn Panama and moved to the United States when he was just a kid. His strong, vibrant style reflects the love that he holds for his native Panama, as well as a deep determination born from being raised an immigrant in a new country. His style is bold and evocative, and he sees the relationship of artist and viewer as an exchange of emotion and energy. His hope is to inspire conversation, peace and positivity with his work.
Throughout his career, Puente has made it his mission to use his talent to give back. His charitable efforts have spanned Panama to South Korea, with a focus on special causes including children's charity, ending animal cruelty and endangered species awareness. His work in 2017 has contributed to ending the Korean dog trade through his partnership with the non-profit organization "Save Korean Dogs.". Additionally, Puente has most recently collaborated with the Charity Guild of Fort Lauderdale to raise donations for Kid's in Distress and Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center.
In his personal time, Gustavo has become a world-travelled adventure enthusiast, as well as a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He currently resides in West Palm Beach, Florida, and primarily focuses on privately commissioned paintings.
